FUEL President re-elected to the Meyer Center Board
FUEL President and CEO Warren Griffith was re-elected to serve on the 2018 Board of Directors at the Meyer Center for Special Children. He will also serve on the Nominating Committee that selects future board members. This will be Griffith’s second year on the board and the organization’s 65th year serving children with special needs in the Upstate.
“The past year has been a great experience for me,” says Griffith. “Being from Greenville, I’ve known about the Meyer Center for years, but until I served on the Board, I wasn’t aware of how urgent and life-changing their work truly is for children in the Upstate. They do so much for these kids and families, and I’m proud to lend my time to serve this great team here.”
Dr. Leslie Meyer founded the Meyer Center in 1954 with the simple (if revolutionary, at the time) vision that every child, with proper education and therapy, could overcome any setback, regardless of circumstances or perceived limitations. That vision still burns strong today. “Thanks to the support of the Greenville community and our dedicated board,” says Meyer Center Executive Director, Chris Neeley, “the Meyer Center has been able to make a real difference in the lives of countless children over the decades. As we look to 2019 and the opportunities before us, our goal is to have an even bigger impact to positively affect the lives of children.”
For the past four years, FUEL has lent their comprehensive digital and traditional marketing solutions to the Meyer Center—helping them build awareness and drive funding. “As a company,” says, Meredith Kinsey, FUEL Senior Vice President & COO, “FUEL has enjoyed providing strategic support assistance to the Meyer Center. As a company, we do everything we can to help this terrific organization continue to enrich the lives of children with disabilities so that they can reach their maximum potential.”

The Meyer Center for Special Children
The Meyer Center was founded in 1954 by Dr. Leslie C. Meyer, one of the first pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the Upstate. He believed that children with disabilities could grow and learn, like any child, if given the right environment, education, and therapy. That was 60 years ago: long before the phrase “early intervention” was coined, a time when society saw only limitations for children with disabilities. It is a testament to his vision—as well as to the generosity of the Greenville Community—that the Meyer Center has been able to help so many wonderful children over the years. The Meyer Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), is a United Way partner agency, and is a charter school for qualifying children age 3 and above in Greenville County.
